Frankfurt, October 12, 2016: Safer parking for freight and driver – Shepard Fox supports Bosch launching Bosch Secure Truck Parking
It’s a common sight on motorway rest stops: Row after row of narrowly parked trucks as drivers take their breaks. Just in Germany, there is a shortage of about 14,000 parking spaces for trucks. Truck drivers often have to enter a number of parking sites before they are able to safely park their truck, forcing them to violate statutory rest periods. The search for parking space increases fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. In addition, many parking spaces are not safe. As a consequence, freight theft is increasing dramatically. – Bosch today launched a solution to this problem: the online booking platform Bosch Secure Truck Parking, allowing truck drivers to find and book secure parking spaces at truck stops. The IoT solution, jointly developed with SAP, was demonstrated live today for the first time under real-life conditions in Karlsruhe, Germany. – Shepard Fox helped Bosch organize the launch event including press conference, develop the key messages, create the media release and arrange interviews with TV as well as business and trade press.
